Delete Your Account

Option 1 — Delete from inside the app (fastest)

1. Open Placi and sign in.
2. Go to the More tab.
3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
4. Confirm. Your account is deleted immediately and you are signed out.

Delete only some of your data (and keep your account)

You do not have to delete your account to remove data. Inside the app you can delete any individual record at any time:

• Individual records: open the item — a bill, transaction, task, document, grocery item, occasion, asset, journey, or allowance entry — and choose Delete. Lists also support swipe-to-delete.
• A whole household you own: More → Household Settings → Delete Household. This permanently removes that household and everything in it (bills, spending, tasks, groceries, occasions, documents and their files, assets, journeys, allowance entries and approvals) while your Placi account stays active.
• Documents and their files: deleting a document also deletes its encrypted files from our storage and the copies cached on your device.

Deleted records are removed from our systems immediately and from routine encrypted backups on a rolling basis, no later than 30 days. If you would rather we delete specific data for you, email info@placi.io from your account's email address describing what to remove; we complete these requests within 30 days.

Option 2 — Request account deletion by email

If you have already uninstalled the app or cannot sign in, email us from the address on your Placi account:

Email a deletion request

Send it to info@placi.io with the subject "Delete my Placi account". We verify the request came from the account's email address, then complete the deletion within 30 days — usually within a few business days. We will confirm by email when it is done.

What is deleted

• Your account and profile — your name, email address, and sign-in identity.
• Any household you solely own, together with all of its content: bills and payments, spending records, tasks, grocery lists, occasions and guests, documents and their encrypted files, assets and maintenance history, journeys, allowance entries, and approvals. Profile-only members you created (for example children or household staff without their own login) are deleted with it.
• Your membership in any household owned by someone else.
• Your device push tokens, so notifications stop.
• All Placi data cached on your device, including locally stored document files and encryption keys, is erased from that device.

What is kept, and why

• Households that other members share with you are not deleted. If a household has other real members besides you, the household and its content belong to those remaining members and continue to exist without you — your membership is removed, but their records stay. If you want that household deleted too, ask its owner, or transfer or delete it before you delete your account.
• Encrypted backups. Residual copies may persist in our provider's routine encrypted backups and are purged on a rolling basis, no later than 30 days after deletion.
• Records we must keep by law — for example transaction or tax records relating to a paid subscription — are retained only for the period the applicable law requires.

Before you delete: subscriptions

Deleting your Placi account does not automatically cancel a paid subscription, because subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, not by us. Cancel it first:

• Android: Google Play app → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Placi → Cancel.
• iPhone/iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Placi → Cancel.

Deletion is permanent

Deleted accounts and household data cannot be recovered. If you only want to step away temporarily, you can sign out or leave a household instead of deleting your account.
